Purchasing Training Courses and Services
 
These terms and conditions apply to all orders you, the customer (“you”), place with us via this website and constitute the entire and only agreement between us. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before ordering any of the online courses and other services displayed on our website (“Services”). You should understand that by ordering any of the Services displayed on our website, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Please understand that if you refuse to accept these terms and conditions, you will not be able to order any Services from our website.
 
Use of our Website
 
Your use of our site is governed by our terms and conditions of website use. Please take the time to read these, as they include important terms which apply to you.
 
We reserve the right to remove access to this website (and the Services) in respect of anyone who does not comply with the above terms of use. In such circumstances no refund shall be made in respect of Services that are no longer accessible.
 
Placing an Order or booking a course or service
 
You may place an order with us through this website in relation to the Services sold on our website. We will send you an email acknowledging your order, which will confirm the order details and details of how to access the purchased Services. A binding contract will only come into force between us once you have received this acknowledgement email.
 
Our order process allows you to check and amend any errors before submitting your order to us. Please take the time to read and check your order at each page of the order process.
 
All orders are subject to availability and we reserve the right to reject any order for any reason. If we reject an order (for whatever reason) we will inform you as soon as possible.
 
Description
 
All descriptions, specifications, advertising, and overview information displayed on our website in relation to the Services or courses are issued or published for the sole purpose of giving an approximate idea of the Services to be provided. They will not form part of the contract between us. The Services delivered may differ in non-material respects from the information provided on our website.
 
We may make any change to the specification or design of the Services or courses which are required to conform with any applicable safety, statutory or regulatory requirement, or do not materially reduce their quality.
 
Price of the Services
 
The price(s) of the Services are displayed on our website at the time you place your order. Unless stated otherwise, all prices stated on our website are exclusive of value added tax.
 
All prices are subject to change without prior notice.
 
Our website contains a large number of Services and it is always possible that, despite our best efforts, some of the Services listed on our website may be incorrectly priced. We will not be obliged to supply the Services at the incorrect price, even if we have accepted your order.
 
Payment
 
We must receive payment in full for all the Services you order before your order can be processed. Payment for the Services will be taken through our third party payment provider Paypal or you can pay via Direct Bank Transfer. Payment will be received by us upon confirmation from such provider or receiving bank, that the transaction has been completed. Cheques must be made payable to ‘Soap School’ and sent to our business address Soap School, 20 The Grove, Huddersfield, W Yorks, HD2 1BL.
 
Cancellation of Online elearning or distance learning courses– Cancellation of courses may be given in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
 
Less than 10 working days – the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the training course
 
Over 10 working days – a refund, minus a £25 handling fee will be given
 
You may cancel any order for Services (or part thereof) and receive a refund in respect of such at any time before such Services (or part thereof) are accessed. You will not be able to cancel an order for any part of the Online LearningServices once they have been accessed.
 
If you do not access the Services during the twelve (12) months following the date on which they were ordered, we reserve the right to cancel the order and withdraw your access to such Services. You will not receive a refund if the order is cancelled as described in this paragraph.
 
The Services will be deemed to have been “accessed” when the relevant online course is commenced or any associated materials are loaded or viewed by someone utilising your account.
 
Workshop Course Cancellations Policy
 
Cancellation of courses must be given in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
 
Less than 10 working days – the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the training course
 
Over 10 working days – a refund, minus a £25 admin fee/deposit will be given. Please see our deposit policy below.
 
In the event of not being able to attend a course, course participants cannot transfer to other courses, they can only:
 
a)cancel subject to our terms and conditions below or
 
b)transfer their booking to a new participant, who is then subject to our terms and conditions.
 
A strict cancellations policy is applicable to all our courses and is as follows:
 
Notifications of cancellations are only valid if given to us in writing and will only be accepted if sent to us via-email, or letter. E-mails are preferred.
 
Cancellations received between 0 and 10 calendar days before the course - will not be refunded unless Soap School cancels a course and the fee is non-transferable to another course.
Soap School will not reimburse you for any travelling/accommodation expenses you may have incurred; we recommend that students who incur high travelling expenses to attend our courses obtain their own travel insurance or to contact the transport operator for a refund. In some cases we may ask for further proof before issuing you a refund.
 
Cancellations received over 10 working days – a refund, minus the £25 admin fee per day booked or deposit will be given. Please see our deposit policy below.
 
Whatever the reason for your inability to attend, your course place may be transferred to another person at no extra cost. It is your responsibility to find a replacement. Please notify us of any name change if sending your replacement before the course begins. If this is not possible, then when your replacement registers at the course, they must notify us.
 
Deposit/Admin Fees Policy
 
Deposit/admin fees (currently £50 plus VAT for a regular course / £100 plus VAT for any 2 day or Boot Camp courses or £495 plus VAT for 7 or 9 Day events and are included in course price) are non-refundable and non-transferable to another course. Once you have paid your deposit, we will not refund it to you, unless Soap School has cancelled the course.
 
Liability
 
Save to the extent permitted by law, we (and any of our group companies and the officers, directors, employees, shareholders, sub-contractors or agents of any of them) exclude all liability and responsibility from any amount or kind of loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services.
 
We do not exclude or attempt to limit in any way our liability:
•for personal injury or death resulting from our negligence;
•for any matter for which it would be illegal for us to exclude or to attempt to exclude our liability; or
•for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
 
Subject to the exclusions/limitations set out above, we shall not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss or damage of any nature whatsoever arising and whether caused in tort (including negligence), breach of contract or otherwise (even if foreseeable), any loss of income or revenue, loss of business, loss of profit of contracts,
 
loss of anticipated savings, wasted third party costs, and/or loss of data, management or office time.
 
We will perform and deliver the Services with reasonable care and skill. We do not give any other representation, warranty or undertaking in relation to the Services. Any representation, condition or warranty which might be implied or incorporated into these terms by statute, common law or otherwise is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, we will not be responsible for ensuring that the Services are suitable for your purposes and do not guarantee any specific results from participating in the online learning courses.
 
Events Outside our Control
 
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under an order that is caused by an “Event Outside Our Control”.
 
An Event Outside Our Control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation server failures, software failures, failure of public or private telecomms networks, industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat thereof, war in all forms, fire, flood, storm, or other natural disaster.
 
Our Right to Vary These Terms
 
We may revise these terms from time to time in the following circumstances:
•changes in how we accept payment from you;
•changes in relevant laws and regulatory requirements; or
•any other changes to our operating or delivery processes.
 
Every time you order Services from us, the terms in force at that time will apply to the contract between you and us.
 
General
 
We always try to ensure that our website is always available for you. In the event that our website is unavailable at any time and for any period (for whatever reason) we shall not be liable even if this means you cannot access the Services during that period.
 
If any provision within these terms and conditions is held by any competent authority to be invalid or unenforceable (in whole or in part) the validity of the other provisions of these terms and conditions and the remainder of the provision in question shall not be affected.
 
These terms and conditions (including in relation to any non-contractual obligations) shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with English law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
 
Cancellation of Consultancy – Cancellation of consultancy or other more bespoke services may be given verbally but MUST be confirmed in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
 
Less than 10 working days – the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the consultancy
 
Over 10 working days – a refund, minus a 10% handling fee will be given
 
Health & Safety – Making cosmetics and related products involves the use of potentially hazardous chemicals, harmless oils and natural compounds. Chemical reactions take place during the manufacturing process that renders the final products perfectly safe. Whilst these products are not harmful if handled and used correctly, Sodium and Potassium Hydroxide (used in the soap making workshops) are corrosive alkali and adequate precautions must be taken because of the possibility of physical harm if misused.
 
Soap School courses and training sessions involve working with the product types indicated above and whilst Soap School educate clients on best practice, correct handling procedures and provide safety and precautionary advice, the client assumes all personal risk and liability for their own welfare.
 
Disclaimer – Soap School cannot be held responsible for any circumstances beyond our control, which affect the course date(s) or consultancies, content(s) or timing(s) including cancellation or re-scheduling. If a course or consultancy session has to be cancelled, amended or re-scheduled for any reason Soap School will make every reasonable effort to make alternative arrangements. Soap School cannot be held responsible for any other expenses occurred, such as travel or hotel expenses in the event of a course or consultancy cancellation. Soap School does not accept responsibility for any accidents or misuse of training carried our by any clients whilst on a course or used once they are in any home/office/work/public place/area or arena. Clients carry out their training with our organization at their own risk.
 
Soap School policy is one of continuous development and we reserve the right to make changes without notice.
 
By booking a Soap School course or consultancy, the client agrees to take full personal responsibility for any accident/injury that may be sustained whilst attending the workshop, waiving any liability whatsoever from Soap School and its partners and indemnifying Soap School and/or any of its staff fully against any and all losses that may result from any legal action that may follow any accident or injury sustained whilst attending a Soap School course or consultancy session. Acceptance of the training by the client indicates acceptance of the above terms and conditions.

Purchasing Training Courses and Services
Payment - Payment for courses and workshops must be received in full at least 10 working days prior to the course date. Working days are Monday through Friday inclusive and do not include weekends.
 
Cheques must be made payable to 'Soap School' and sent to our business address. Payment can be made by credit card directly through our website. All card payments are taken via Paypal ensuring the highest level of security. Bookings can be made online or by phoning us on 01484 310014
No training booking is considered as confirmed until payment has been received. Full joining instructions will be sent to clients prior to the course start date.
 
Reservations - Provisional telephone or email bookings can only be held for up to 5 working days pending payment. If not payment is received within 5 working days, the provisional space may be made available and taken by another client. If a booking is made at short notice (less than 10 working days before the course) then payment must be received immediately.
 
Cancellation - Cancellation of courses may be given verbally or in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
Less than 10 working days - the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the training course
Over 10 working days - a refund, minus a 10% handling fee or the stated deposit for the 2 day Boot Camps (£100) will be given.
Cancellation of Consultancy - Cancellation of a consultancy may be given verbally or in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
Less than 10 working days - the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the consultancy
Over 10 working days - a refund, minus a 10% handling fee will be given
Cancellation of other services - Cancellation of a safety assessment or other service may be given verbally or in writing. The client will be liable for the following costs:-
Less than 48 hours - the client shall remain liable for the whole cost of the safety assessment or other service
Over 2 working days - a refund, minus a 25% handling fee will be given

Dress Code – Soap School will provide the necessary hand, eye and mouth protection. Clients should wear comfortable clothing and bring a long sleeved top and no open toed shoes. Clients with long hair should ensure that it is tied back safely. Clients must be aware that they may be handling oils, cosmetic colours and other ingredients that may stain clothing.
